About Payday UK
Payday UK is a credit broker, not a lender. Thousands of people use us every day. Here is who we are and how we work.
-
No hidden costs or fees
Our service is free to use and we never ask for an upfront payment. We are paid a commission by the lender when an introduction turns into a loan.
-
3-minute soft search
In about 3 minutes, lenders on our panel check your eligibility with a soft search that other lenders cannot see.
-
Bank grade security
Your application is encrypted in transit and we are registered with the Information Commissioner’s Office under ZA654345.
-
Reach a panel of lenders at once
Fill in your details once and they are put to a panel of lenders and brokers in one go.
-
Loans matched to you
We look for £50 to £5,000 over 3 to 36 months. Whether a lender approves you, and at what rate, is their decision.
-
A panel regulated by the FCA
Every lender and broker on our panel is authorised and regulated by the FCA. Check any lender on the Financial Services Register before you sign.
Getting started with Payday UK is easy
See if you would qualify for a loan through Payday UK in just 2 mins.
Four promises we keep
No small print surprises. The same four promises apply whatever you apply for and whoever ends up lending to you.
-
A search that won't dent your score
Asking us for a quote does not affect your credit score. A hard search is only recorded if you accept an offer and go ahead with that lender.
-
One form, a panel of lenders and brokers
You apply once instead of approaching lenders one at a time, so you are not collecting a credit footprint from every one you try.
-
Always free to use
You pay nothing to use Payday UK, whether or not you go on to take a loan.
-
Check us on the FCA Register
Look us up on the Financial Services Register before you deal with us. Our full regulatory details are further down this page.
We search a panel of lenders and credit brokers, all authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority, to find options that suit your circumstances.

WHO ARE PAYDAY UK?
We are a broker, not a lender
We do not lend money, and we never decide whether you are approved. We take one application and put it to a panel of lenders.
The loan agreement, the interest you pay, the affordability decision and everything after you sign are between you and the lender. If you are declined, that is the lender’s decision and only they can explain it.
How it works
Our website is designed to be fast and simple, so you can apply in a few minutes.
-
Apply online
Fill out our short, secure form and search a panel of FCA-regulated lenders to see the offers available to you.
-
Check your offer
Once you have your offer from the lender, you can review the offer and get your cash.
-
Get your money
Once accepted, your money can often be paid into your account the same day.
HOW WE ARE PAID
You will never pay us a penny
Payday UK does not charge you a fee. Getting a quote is free and we will never ask you for an upfront payment. If anyone asks you for an upfront fee, it is not us.
We are paid a commission by the lender when an introduction turns into a loan. That is how the service stays free for you.
Where a lender approves you, the cost is set by that lender. Some loans also fall under the FCA price cap. The cap applies to high-cost short-term credit, which means a loan with both an APR of 100% or more and repayment due within 12 months. A loan that meets only one of these conditions is not covered. When the cap applies, it limits what you can be charged in three ways: interest and fees cannot be more than 0.8% of the amount borrowed per day, default fees cannot be more than £15, and you will never repay more than twice the amount you borrowed. Always check the total amount repayable on your loan agreement before you sign.

Our lender partners
To fulfil our role as a credit broker, we share your information with lender and broker partners who are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority.

A lender panel is the fixed list of firms a broker sends applications to. It isn't the whole market.
Our panel changes as lenders join and leave it, so we don't publish a fixed list here. A published list would be out of date almost immediately.
Ask us through our contact page and we will send you the list that applies to your application, within one month.
We don't carry out credit checks ourselves.
The lenders make the decisions, so approval is never guaranteed.
We do not charge you a fee for using the Payday UK service, but we may receive a commission from Our Partners if they are able to provide you with the particular product or service you were looking for.
Who is responsible for your personal data
Payday Loans Ltd is the data controller for the personal information collected through this website.
Lenders and credit brokers on our panel. All of them are authorised and regulated by the Financial Conduct Authority and appear on the Financial Services Register. We share your application so that they can decide whether to offer you credit. Once they receive it they decide for themselves how they use it, so they are independent controllers and their own privacy policies apply.

About Payday UK questions
Is Payday UK a direct lender?
No. Payday UK is a credit broker, not a lender. We do not make lending decisions or provide funds directly. We introduce you to FCA-regulated lenders who make their own decisions. Our service is completely free.
Does Payday UK charge a fee?
No. Using Payday UK is free - we never charge you a fee for searching our panel or for introducing you to a lender.
We are a credit broker, not a lender. When a loan is taken out we may receive a commission from the lender, and that never changes what you pay.
Someone has asked me for an upfront fee. Is that you?
No. We never ask for a payment before a loan is arranged. No legitimate lender will ask you to pay a fee to release a loan. Anyone who does is not working for us. Don't pay, don't send bank details, and report it to Report Fraud. You can also check whether a firm is genuine on the FCA's register.
I've had a call or text claiming to be Payday UK. Is it really you?
Check before you reply. We'll never ring out of the blue asking for your bank details, your PIN or a payment. If you're unsure, hang up and contact us on 0800 302 9409 using the number on this page rather than one you've been given. You can also look us up on the FCA's register: Payday UK is a trading name of Payday Loans Ltd, an appointed representative of Flux Funding Limited, reference 806333.
I want to complain about your service.
Email complaints@paydayuk.co.uk or write to the Complaints Manager at Payday Loans Ltd, The Charter Building, Charter Place, Uxbridge, UB8 1JG. We'll try to sort it out by the end of the next working day, and if we can't, we'll write to you within 5 days to tell you who's handling it. A full investigation takes up to 8 weeks. If you're unhappy with our final response you can take it to the Financial Ombudsman Service, and you have 6 months from the date of that letter to do so. Our complaints procedure sets it all out.
How do I get a copy of my data, or have it deleted?
Email customerservice@paydayuk.co.uk and tell us what you want - a copy of what we hold, a correction, or deletion. We'll respond within a month. We may have to keep some records where the law or our regulator requires it. Bear in mind that if you've taken out a loan your lender holds its own records, and you'd need to ask them separately. Our privacy policy covers your rights in full, and you can complain to the ICO if you're unhappy with how we've handled it.
